About Our Port Hadlock Veterinary Clinic

port hadlock veterinary clinic The entire team at Hadlock Veterinary Clinic understands the special place that pets occupy in our families. That's why when you bring your dog, cat or exotic pet to our animal hospital, we do everything possible to put you and your companion first.

We practice veterinary medicine because we're dedicated to helping pets live long, happy, healthy lives, and we want to be your partner in strengthening the bond you and your pet share.

Our History

Hadlock Veterinary Clinic was founded by Dr. Joyce Murphy and Dr. Virginia Johnson in 2004. Originally housed in a remodeled rental space near our current Port Hadlock veterinary location, the practice moved to its current space in November of 2011. The new location gave our practice room to grow and expand our services, providing pets on the Quimper Peninsula and surrounding areas in Northwest Washington with unparalleled care.

Our Expertise

All our Port Hadlock veterinarians bring their own expertise to help elevate the level of veterinary care our hospital provides. Dr. Murphy is a board-certified veterinary ophthalmologist, Dr. Johnson is a canine and feline specialist (and a member of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners), and Dr. Cindy Alexander treats birds, ferrets, pocket pets and reptiles along with dogs and cats. Dr. Steinmetz has a strong background in working with animals with behavior problems and loves to treat and examine dogs and cats, as well as chickens and exotic pets.

Our veterinary philosophy is simple: we strive to offer the best care for pets and provide the best information to their owners. We believe it is not our job to make a decision for you regarding the best means of caring for your pet; instead, we make it our goal to provide all the information and answer any questions you have, allowing you to make an informed choice about the best course of action for your pet.

Prevention is Key

We also believe preventive care is the best means to protect the well-being of your pet while minimizing your lifetime costs. That's why we offer complete pet wellness care programs, which include comprehensive semi-annual physical exams, parasite prevention, laboratory work, nutritional counseling, specialized care for senior-aged pets, balanced vaccines, lost pet microchip IDs and a variety of other services. Hadlock Veterinary Clinic also features advanced diagnostic imaging technology, in-house medical testing capabilities, a modern surgical suite, and a wide range of veterinary specialty resources.
